Why Choose Bronze?

Bronze has been used for over 3,000 years for its enduring strength and timeless beauty. Comprised of copper, tin and minute traces of lead, bronze is a unique alloy originally used for its superior strength over preceding materials such as stone, ceramics and copper. During the Bronze Age an enormous variety of items were made from bronze, including tools, weapons, armor, cooking utensils, building materials and statues. Over time iron became cheaper to produce and steel eventually replaced both bronze and iron as a stronger alternative. Gradually, bronze was used less and less for common items.

However, bronze has remained an ideal choice for statues and memorial items. Because it can be easily molded into many different forms, bronze products such as statues, lettering and emblems can be created with great intricate detail. Additionally, Bronze is a highly durable metal alloy. Although it can form a green patina if left unprotected and allowed to oxidize, it is more resistant to corrosion than other materials that must weather the elements. Bronze also has a striking golden color that is unmatched in memorialization products.

Advancements in technology and manufacturing have made bronze an inexpensive solution for dedication and memorialization. Today, bronze is used in a variety of ways, from cemetery memorials and building and civic dedications to commemorative statues and photo cast replications. With these advancements the capabilities of bronze casting are limited only by our imaginations.
